Art Journal Swap

Hey creatieveling,

Even serieus....wat is er nou leuker dan je creatieve uitspattingen delen en ruilen met anderen? 
Via Art Geeks, een erg leuke website geheel gewijd aan mixed media en art journaling heb ik meegedaan aan een Art Journal ruil. 
Ik kwam in contact met Gwennie via deze website http://artgeeks.ning.com/forum/topics/journal-inspiration en we besloten een Art Journal voor elkaar te maken.
Na een paar afspraken zijn we aan de slag gegaan en dit is het Art Journal dat ik ontvangen heb.
Ik ben er erg blij mee en kan bijna niet wachten om het Journal te 'misbruiken' met mijn verf, inkt, pastels, pennen en malle ideeën!
Ik hoop maar dat zij het Journal dat ik voor haar gemaakt heb ook leuk vindt! Zodra ze het ontvangen heeft zal ik het neem ik aan wel horen en zal ik jou ook laten weten wat ze er van vindt ok?

Ik hoop dat je het leuk vindt en wellicht inspireert tot het maken van je eigen Journal?

Back to swap...
We agreed to make an A4 size Art Journal, with 30 pages wich would be random.
Some white, some painted and same collage elements or whatever we felt like.
This is the Journal I received all the way from Scandanavia! :-)

I absolutely love it and can't wait to 'abuse' it with my paints, inks, pastels and crazy ideas!

I have however promised myself to finish one of my other journals before I start in this one.....
we'll see if I can wait just a little longer...

I am so grateful he has come into my life.

I had a pretty good life all by myself for a long time but it is so much more fun 

now that I can share it with my lover!

The colors are much more vibrant in 'the real', 

a bit like the way words cannot do my love real justice as well. :-D

The page was inspired by our lovely cat. No matter how low I feel, she is always able to bring a smile to my face. I am very, very happy she is in my life and I love her to pieces! :-D

Inspiratie voor deze pagina kwam van onze lieve, leuke en gekke kat. Hoe @!#$%! ik me op dat moment ook voel, zij weet altijd een glimlach op mijn gezicht te toveren. Ik ben heel erg blij dat zij in mijn leven is gekomen! Hou zoveel van haar! :-D

Book of Positive Aspects

A day in my Art Journal #1

Today I post my fist Vid!!! :-D

Come and join me in my journal.
In this video I take you with me through the process of making a page.
I'm still working out how the camera works and learning about editting but I'm very happy with my first video.
My inspiration was a quote by Pablo Picasso:"Painting is just another way of keeping a diary;"
And let me know what you think, I would appreciate your feedback so I can learn from it.
This vid does not have background music yet.... I'll try that next time! :-)

Ode to womenhood, Artjournal page

It's Mondaynight again so time for a new blogpost.
This time some photo's of the process of the 'Woman of the World' journal page.
With this page I wanted to remember myself and all women who want to be remembered of the powers and gifts we bring to the world although they may sometimes go unnoticed.
No disregard to the powers and gifts of men by the way.... :-) Maybe I'll do a page on that to someday although it would be a feminine vision of the male powers and gifts. hihi
Here's to us beautiful women!!!

It all began with scrap papers and a thin coat of gesso. 

 Then the fun of layering.....and layering..... :-D

And some journaling....

More layers...

At this point the theme came into the picture.

The pieces of paper are 'recipes'  for connecting with your female powers.

Healing, Strength, Abundance, Fertility, Protection, Love and Creativity.

I traced pictures from a magazine...

Cut them out....

Placed them on the pages and made a new layer with lots of colour to create these silhouettes.

A little more here and there and the text and this page is done!

I really enjoyed making this page, although it had to go through it's 'ugly-state' as many pages do. 

In the end I'm very happy with this reminder!

Hey Art journalers! :-)

This Monday I'd like to share some of my finished art journal pages.
Although I only started art journalling 2 months ago I have made a lot of pages. I was hooked immediately and still am...
I am finding my way with it and with working with mixed media. So far, so good, I'm loving it! I just can't stop, haha :-D

This is my first page ever... (translation: Grateful)

Hmmmm, doodling.....fun!

 Translation: Life is remembering that everything is in constant motion.

Translation: Happiness is... freedom, 

Herman (the love of my life), Champaign, laughter, sex (with Herman off course!), BFF's, music, sunshine, spinach (yummie!), butterflies in my stomach, dancing, flowers, Myrah.

This is Myrah, our very, very, VERY, hugable cat...who is also into computers.... :-D

I hope you liked the pics! Next week I will post a process again. Who knows, maybe even a video...
